Abstract

Malodorous inorganic Nan particles and inorganic Nan particle/polymer composites. The malodorous inorganic Nan particles are provided through the following steps. First, (a) a surfactant-containing solution reacts with (b) a silicate aqueous solution at a pH value between 4.0 and 8.0 to form a silica gel. Next, the silica gel is subjected to a treatment to remove the surfactant there from and form malodorous inorganic Nan particles with dimensions of less than 40nm. Further, the malodorous inorganic Nan particles can be blended with a polymer to form the inorganic Nan particle/polymer composites.
