Abstract

The invention provides a fan control system and a method thereof, suitable for controlling the thermal fan used by a heat-generating device. The method includes: first establishing a database for storing a plurality of types of heat-generating devices and fan operating parameters corresponding to the types; next, detecting the type of the heat-generating device; then, selecting the fan operating parameters corresponding to the type of the heat-generating device from the database according to the detection result; and controlling the operation of the fan based on the selected fan operating parameters. Therefore, with the fan control system and method of the present invention, the fan operating parameters corresponding to the type of the heat-generating device can be selected and the operation of the thermal fan can be controlled based on the fan operating parameters so as to achieve a better heat-dissipating effect.
