Abstract

A method for designing infinite impulse response (IIR) digital filter based on evolution algorithm is disclosed in this invention. The evolution algorithm (EA) is an optimum searching algorithm. An embodiment of the present invention uses EA to search the optimum IIR filter coefficient which is used for designing a digital IIR filter having minimum phase delay and linear phase. Additionally, the coefficients of the filter are discrete valued.
