Abstract

A method of machining carbon nanotubes includes the step of: providing an array of carbon nanotubes; forming at least one protection film segment on the array of carbon nanotubes, the protection film segment has at least two parallel straight sides, the two parallel straight sides are both perpendicular to an axial direction of the carbon nanotubes; breaking the carbon nanotubes at a position without the protection film segment formed thereon; modifying the broken position of the carbon nanotubes to get the carbon nanotubes segments with the same length as the space between the two parallel straight sides of the protection film segment.
