Abstract

This invention relates to a controller and its method for automatically adjusting the brightness of backlight. It comprises a photosensor module, a temperature sensor module, a computation module, and an adjustment module. The light sensor module and the temperature sensor module are respectively utilized for detecting the environmental brightness and the temperature of the photosensor. They output the resistance value, and the current magnitude to the computation module for calculating the backlight adjustment value. According to the backlight adjusting value, the adjustment module adjusts the backlight brightness. According to the environment brightness and the temperature, the controller automatically adjusts the backlight brightness of monitor. Therefore, the monitor is not restricted by the environment brightness. Eventually, the user clearly learns the message appeared on the monitor.
