Abstract

A dual-mode directly start-up driving piezoelectric converter which could be applied on lighting CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) is proposed in this invention. The dual-mode directly start-up driving piezoelectric converter proposed in this invention could be used in the backlight power module of liquid crystal display or television with liquid crystal display. The dual-mode directly start-up driving piezoelectric converter proposed in this invention drives CCFL by a fixed frequency directly. If CCFL is not lighted on by the fixed frequency, the driving frequency will be increased until the CCFL is lighted on. Then the driving circuit starts the self-exciting mode after lighting of the CCFL, which controls the driving frequency of piezoelectric transformer by the condition that the phase difference between the input voltage and output voltage of piezoelectric transformer is fixed or in a fixed range. In this way, piezoelectric transformer could work on the highest efficient point at which this invention can therefore raise the overall transformation efficiency of the piezoelectric converter.
