Abstract
A centrifugal pump with air venting design is characterized in that an impeller has at least one venting hole axially defined in a rotating portion thereof such that when the pump works, the air accumulated under the rotating portion will flee out through the at least one venting hole. Alternatively, a shaft of the pump is provided with a spiral groove on the surface thereof, and the spiral direction of the groove is cooperated with the rotation direction of the impeller such that when the pump works, the air accumulated under the rotating portion will approach to the shaft by fluid push force and flee out along the groove. Any one of the air venting designs can avoid air binding and reduce noise and air erosion.
