This invention provides the portable electronic device with a function used to automatically adjust the receiving frequency of a radio broadcast when a local frequency is changed. By this invention, when a user moves from one area to another area whose radio frequency is different, the user can still continuously and constantly receive the same broadcast program that was received from the previous area. This character can make a user be able to continuously and constantly receive the same broadcast program that was received from the previous area without inconveniently and manually adjusting the receiving frequency when a user is moving from one area to another area whose radio frequency is different.
