Abstract

A crosslinking process for production of steam-sterilizable multilayer extrusion-moulded port tubing which is composed at least of one transparent and weldable outer layer and of one transparent and flexible internally arranged layer, wherein at least one internally arranged layer is crosslinked by means of UV radiation, where the UV crosslinking is carried out in-line in the extrusion section after the moulding of the port tubing, and the extrusion speed selected is from 5 to 80 m/min, where the temperature of the moulded port tubing to be crosslinked is maintained below 120 DEG C during the crosslinking process, and the degree of crosslinking is controlled in the range from 50 to 80% via the number, type and sequence of cooling and calibrating units and UV sources.
