Abstract

The present invention relates to an ex vivo diagnostic method for the detection of malignant tumorigenic development or cancer in human individual, the method being based on the differential determination of at least one compound present in a bodily fluid of a diseased or healthy donor before and after addition of an alkaloid compound, particularly of the commercially available mixture of alkaloid derivatives known as UKRAIN. The invention further relates to a diagnostic kit for carrying out the method, and for the use of such alkaloid derivatives as diagnostic tools in cancer diagnostics.
