Abstract
The present invention relates to an illumination device, more particularly, to prevent the deviation of mercury in a lamp tube and decrease brightness unevenness on a light emitting face in an illumination device equipped with multiple numbers of bending-tube type dielectric barrier electric discharge lamps (EEFL) which are illuminated simultaneously by reducing a difference in temperature between an electrode of a bending part of a lamp and an electrode of a tube end. In the illumination device in which a plurality of bending-tube type EEFLs each having the bending part are arranged in parallel, outer electrodes are formed on respective both ends and bending parts of the bending-tube type EEFL, and a rectangular waved voltage or a sine waved voltage reverse in phase from each other are impressed respectively on the outer electrodes of the both ends, while the outer electrodes of the bending parts are connected to the GND.
