Abstract

A method for de-interlacing an interlaced image. The method is motion adaptive for better visual quality. First, motion detection is used to divide a picture into static and moving regions. Moving regions are performed with spatial direction interpolation, and static regions are performed with temporal direction interpolation. After suitable interpolation is applied and the two regions are merged, high quality frame image can be produced.
