Abstract

This disclosure is related to the manufacturing process of small chip antennas. In this disclosed process the radiating meandered lines, feed, and soldering point were first developed on a dielectric substrate into a perform, which is then encapsulated with a dielectric composite material. The meandered lines are composed of a single feed and a multiple of conducting microstrips, which can be made either in a two-dimensional or in a three-dimensional pattern in the dielectric substrate. The antenna perform is then encapsulated with a dielectric composite material whose dielectric constant can be adjusted to certain extent so as to shift the central frequency of return loss to the targeted frequency without resorting to changing the dimensions of the radiating meandered lines.
