Abstract

The object of the present invention is to prevent illegal manufacture and reproduction of optical discs. The present invention comprises a BCA code recording apparatus manufacturer 10 for sending a certain serial number ID (a) to each of BCA code recording apparatuses 31, while notifying an authorization management group 20 of the serial number ID (a); an authorization management group 20 for sending a BCA equipment key (b) to an optical disc manufacturer 30 according to the serial number ID (a) from said manufacturer 10, while transferring an authorization key (d) produced according to said BCA equipment key (b) and a media key (c) sent for each title to an optical disc reproducing apparatus 70; an optical disc manufacturer 30 for producing a special cryptographic key (e) according to the media key (c) received from said authorization management group 20 and said serial number ID (a) as sent, and recording said special cryptographic key (e) and the BCA code simultaneously in a specific area for BCA code in an optical disc; and an optical disc reproducing apparatus 70 for reproducing the optical disc only under the condition that the special cryptographic key (e) and the authorization key (d) are in a specific relation.
