Abstract

A light guide plate 1 which its side face has a light entrance face 5 and its upper or lower face has a light exit face 3 is provided. Multiple deflection pattern elements 17 with tetragon shape are contiguously disposed on the opposite face to the light exit face 3. And the deflection pattern elements 17 are formed in the direction of normal thickness decreasing of the light guide plate 1. Each deflection pattern element 17 is formed on the light guide plate 1 except the base face of the tetragon. In the four faces excepting the base face, the area of the first face and second face is more than 20 times of the area of the third face and the fourth face. The crest line between the first face and the second face is orthogonal to the light entrance face 5. The range of the inclination angle between the light exit face 3 and the first face and the second face is in 0.5 to 3 degrees. The areas of the first face and the second face are the same. The areas of the third face and the fourth face are the same. And the difference between brightness and darkness near the light entrance face can be avoided.
