Abstract

A detection device of battery capacity constructed together with the system LED for a notebook computer and the method thereof are disclosed. A controller embedded in the notebook computer is used to detect the status of a battery test signal and then generate the indication of the battery capacity accordingly. When the embedded controller detects the battery test signal, the embedded controller drives the system LED of the system LED set with light/ dark or blinking status to indicate the capacity of the battery. The battery test signal can be generated by pushing a test switch and also by pushing a predetermined push button on the keyboard of the notebook computer.
