Abstract

This invention provides a switch gear using a compact and low cost insulator, and such insulator. The switch gear is constituted by a cart (2), two conductors (21, 22) connected to two ends of a switch gear unit (7), and an insulating support (30) supporting the conductors (21, 22) on the cart (2) respectively. The insulating support (30) includes a supporting insulator (31) having through holes (31b) respectively provided at the vicinity of the mounting surfaces formed on two sides of the supporting insulator (30) and mounting holes extending from the mounting surfaces to the through holes (31b), fastening plates (32) provided in the through holes (31b) and bolts (33) which fasten the fastening plates (32). The conductors (21, 22) are fixedly supported by the cart (2) by fastening the fastening plates (32) with the bolts (33) inserted in the mounting holes from two sides of the insulator (31).
