Abstract

The present invention provides the foam particles of styrene resin, the foam beads of styrene resin and the molding products which have the low VOC (low volatile organic compound) performance and the high application limits. The method for producing the foam particles of styrene resin comprises adding a styrenic monomer into the suspension of styrene monomer to proceed polymerization in the last period of polymerization, while maintaining the oxygen concentation at a low concentration of ≤ 7 vol.% in the reactor, thus making the styrene monomers, which are absorbed on the foam particles impregnating with pentane as a foaming agent, to proceed the polymerization. By such method, the selectivity of molecular weight of particle, outside the particle, can be increased. The low VOC (low volatile organic compound) performance is possible by impregnating the pentane as a foaming agent. Further, since the molecular weight outside the particle are high, the foam particles have excellent appearances and strengths.
