Abstract

A composite ceramic is disclosed. The composite ceramic, which is substantially composed of aluminum nitride (AlN) and aluminum oxide (Al2O3), has high heat conductivity and high electric resistance, can be used as an insulating material to improve the problems of poor heat conductivity and high cost of a ceramic material of a welding torch in the prior art. In addition, there is provided a method of preparing composite ceramic. A starting powder is at least added with aluminum nitride, and then by applying cold isostatic pressure (CIP) and atmosphere sintering procedures, the AlN/Al2O3 composite ceramic with high heat conductivity and high electric resistance is formed. The method of preparing such composite ceramic is easy, cheap and suitable for use in industries related to electric ceramics, dielectric ceramics and the like.
