Abstract

This invention provides a method for decreasing the manufacturing cost of the discharging glass tube, and increasing its strength. The resolving method of this invention comprises the following procedures: Firstly, one end of the discharging glass tube is thermally sealed through using of bead ball material. The heat-resistant fine-bar is inserted from the open end, which is opposite to the sealed end of the glass tube. Further, it has an aimed lamp-length portion distant from the sealed end of glass tube. Furthermore, under the state of the inserted heat-resistant fine-bar, the aimed lamp-length portion of the glass tube is heated to perform melting process onto the part of glass tube so as to form thicker portion through the use of its surface tension. Moreover, the heat-resistant fine-bar is extracted from the open end of the glass tube. Afterwards, it performs vacuum-exhausting process from the open end of the glass tube to evacuate internal air. Subsequently, it injects the discharging medium into the interior of glass tube. Finally, it heats the exact outside portion that is even closer to the open-end portion than the thicker portion of glass tube. The extra portion of glass tube is carved in the way of leaving thicker portion. Eventually, the thicker portion of the glass tube is thermally sealed to perform the manufacturing of discharging lamp.
