This invention relates to a primer for quantifying hepatitis C virus, which can amplify cDNA from various genotype of hepatitis C virus. The quantification is performed in the real-time PCR. The advantages of this invention is with low false-negative and high accuracy, and a broad range of viral concentration can be detected. This invention also provides a kit and a method for quantifying hepatitis C virus.
