Abstract

A position measuring system measures a position of each of mobile stations by receiving electric waves from GPS satellites 4 at a reference station 1 whose absolute position is known and a plurality of mobile stations 3 and performing relative position measurement between predetermined stations, wherein at least one of the mobile stations 3 is arranged apart from the reference station 1 at a distance over a baseline limit length over which a relative position measurement can't be performed, and intervals between predetermined mobile stations 3 are set to be equal to or less than the baseline limit length, the station 1 and each of the stations 3 being provided with GPS receivers 11, 21 for receiving electric waves form GPS satellites 4 and radio communication device 12, 22 for transmitting/receiving data with predetermined stations respectively, and wherein a relative position computing unit 32 for computing relative positions between the predetermined stations and a absolute position computing unit 33 for obtaining the absolute position of one station of the stations performing relative position measurement based on the absolute position of the other one station are comprised.
