Abstract

The present invention provides an adhesive composition or the like that does not indicate significant increase in adhesion or fouling on an adherend even when an image display device is reutilized after the bonding and peeling-off of an optical member, has excellent durability such as no exfoliation or blistering when stored in a combination of high temperature and high humidity, and produces an optical member with an adhesive that has excellent productivity in which punching processing can be carried out rapidly. This disclosed adhesive composition for optical members comprises 100 pts.wt. Of an acrylic polymer containing, as a monomer unit, at least 50 wt.% of an acrylate having an alkyl group with not less than 4 carbons, 0.02-2 pts.wt. Of a peroxide, and 0.01-1 pt.wt. Of a silane coupling agent. A method for manufacturing the composition is provided. An adhesive layer is formed by subjecting the composition to a cross-linking treatment with the peroxide. Optical member with an adhesive are prepared by forming such an adhesive layer or layers on one or both of the surfaces of an optical member. An image display device is prepared by using at least one of the optical members.
