Abstract
A plasma discharge panel 100 includes a rear panel 10, a diaphragm 20, a fluorescent screen 21 and a front panel 30. A surface of the diaphragm defining a sealed space with the rear panel 10 and the front panel 30 has a recess collapsed toward outside of the sealed space at an edge part toward the rear panel 10. The fluorescent screen 21 is formed at least partially on a surface of the first substrate and the surface of the diaphragm, these surfaces defining the sealed space, and formed also within the recess. Therefore, a surface area of the fluorescent screen 21 increases, and a volume of the discharge space surrounded by the fluorescent screen 21 in the sealed space increases. Therefore, emission amount (or light amount ) of a visible light increased during a light emission, resulting in an improved emission efficiency.
