Abstract

Casting is performed by casting using a twin roll, belt casting, or casting combining a roll and a belt. The sleeve of the above roll and/or the belt are desirably formed of metal or alloy, especially copper alloy. The sleeve of the roll and/or the surface of the belt may be plated with nickel or nickel alloy, or coated with graphite. The graphite coating method may include continuously spreading graphite-containing powder or paste onto the sleeve of the roll and/or the surface of the belt, or setting a graphite sheet on the sleeve of the roll and/or the surface of the belt and moving the graphite sheet in synchronization with the rotation of the roll or the belt.
