Abstract

The present invention relates to a cap assembly for nonaqueous electrolyte battery, especially for a lithium ion battery. The assembly includes a case and a cap plate for covering an upper portion of the case by laser welding. The cap plate defines an electrolyte injection hole for injecting electrolyte into the case. A screw is inserted into the electrolyte injection hole and is joined to the cap plate by welding. Thus, sealing capability of the assembly is improved.
