Abstract

A defrosting heater for melting frost attached to and accumulated on a chiller includes a glass tube, a heating wire made from metallic resistance disposed in the glass tube, stoppers for covering both open-ends of the glass tube and having a hole through which a lead-wire is inserted, and a lead-wire passing through the hole and being coupled to an end of the heating wire. Protrusions are formed on an inner face of the hole so that a diameter of the hole can be smaller than an outer diameter of the lead-wire for sealing a space between the stopper and the lead-wire when the lead-wire is inserted in the hole. The foregoing structure prevents outer air from entering into the space between the lead-wire and the stopper. As a result, the heating wire can be protected from corrosion and breakage.
