Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and a device for rapidly detecting abnormal voltage on a static transfer switch. The three-phase voltage is firstly converted to a root-mean square signal (Vrms) in which the negative order component, high frequency harmonic and noises are filtered out. The filtered signal is then compared to a reference voltage to determine whether the three-phase voltage is normal. When a three-voltage is abnormal, the detected result will actuate a switching element to change to a backup power system thus continuing to supply electricity to the load. Since the negative order component contained in the root-mean square signal (Vrms) had been filtered before being compared to the reference voltage, the required time for the comparing process is short, and meanwhile the determining accuracy is good.
