Abstract

A brake mechanism for a high speed linear rail includes a set of single action cylinders having correspondingly shrunk hydraulic bars, and a mobile brake block fastened on the front end of the hydraulic bar. The inside of the mobile brake block is locked with a brake pad. The internal pressure of the hydraulic cylinders is maintained at a setting value by a hydraulic system so that the hydraulic bars extend outwards. The brake mechanism and a set of linear rail blocks are installed on a linear rail together to travel along the linear rail. When the power is off, the hydraulic bars and the mobile brake blocks on the two sides of the hydraulic cylinder simultaneously retract rapidly so that the mobile brake blocks tightly press on the linear rail to complete a braking operation in order to prevent the system and the load construction (or workpiece) on the linear rail block from being damaged.
