Abstract

An invented fault-tolerance RAID controller is employed by the multicast transmission technology in the PCI express advanced switch technology to fulfill the multicast for the command or data, such that the command or data received and handled by the primary RAID controller can be synchronously mirroring to the auxiliary RAID controller. In addition, the auxiliary RAID controller continuously detects the faults of the primary RAID controller, if any fault or breakdown for the primary RAID controller, the auxiliary RAID controller will promptly take over the works of the primary RAID controller and the data-writing continuity can be still maintained.
