Abstract

The present invention relates to a door lock structure, and in particular to a novel structure that overcomes the drawbacks of the conventional door lock that the cylinder of the door lock is too complicated and thus is difficult to open and a new door lock is required for replacing the old one that has to be damaged when the locksmith is not able to open the door lock so that additional costs are required. The door lock comprises a structure of inter-fit cylinder and core. The core defines tumbler holes for receiving resilient tumblers. The core also forms a transverse slot receiving two retention tabs, which are correspondingly fitted into a fitting slot defined in an internal bore of the cylinder to retain the core in a retained position. The fitting slot of the cylinder is expanded along one side of the inner axial surface to form, at a position corresponding to one of the retention tabs, a shallow recess having a width corresponding to a rear section of the fitting slot. Thus, the core can be rotated without a key by picking only a few of the resilient tumblers associated with the front retention tab and the rear retention tab can be moved into and along the rear shallow recess of the fitting slot to save effort for releasing the core without causing damage to door lock and additional costs for replacement of the lock.
