Abstract

Disclosed is a bi-directional full-duplex optical transceiver that is coupled to an optic fiber to provide optic fiber based single-core bi-directional full-duplex transmission. The optical transceiver comprises a circulator, a transmitting light source, and a light receiving element. The circulator is a three-optic-port circulator having three optic ports respectively coupled to the optic fiber, the transmitting light source and the light receiving element to allow the light transmitted from the transmitting light source to enter the optic fiber through the circulator, and the optic signal transmitted through the optic fiber is allowed to directly enter the light receiving element without mutual interference.
