Abstract

A fluid pressure cylinder is provided for miniaturing and cost-saving without decreasing the clamping force of the lock structure. A main piston 21 fixed onto a piston rod 19 is accommodated in a cylinder tube 22 in a manner capable of reciprocating. The cylinder tube 22 is divided into a clamping chamber 30 and a releasing chamber 31. A lock unit 23 is installed within a lock unit cover 24 and can switches between a clamping status for clamping the piston rod 19 and a releasing status for releasing the clamping. A lock piston 48 is installed within the lock unit cover 24 and can reciprocate between an action position for making the lock unit 23 in a clamping status and a retreat position for making the lock unit 23 in a releasing status. The lock unit cover 24 is divided into a lock-pressurizing chamber 50 and a lock-releasing chamber 51. A flow supply passage 55 is opened in the lock-pressurizing chamber 50 for guiding fluid and a spring member 49 for locking is assembled therein.
