Abstract

An epoxy resin/nano rubber powder hybrid composite material is produced by a process which consists of introducing a nano fully-cross-linked rubber powder into an epoxy resin matrix, adding a reinforcement fiber and a cross-linking agent into the above material, and subjecting the resulting mixture to a high temperature and high pressure molding reaction procedure. A high performance epoxy resin composite material with high toughness and high thermal resistance can be used to make sport products, e.g. tennis racket, squash racket, badminton racket, hockey stick, polostick, baseball bat, fishing rod, golf club, etc. An epoxy resin/nano rubber powder hybrid composite material according to the present invention includes an epoxy substrate, a fully-cross-linked nano rubber powder, a reinforcement fiber, a cross-linking agent, and other additives, in which the fully-cross-linked nano rubber powder occupies about 0.5~20 wt%, the reinforcement fiber component occupies about 20~60 wt%, and the cross-linking agent and other additives occupies 5~30 wt%.
