Abstract
A laser alloyed aluminum alloy engine component is applicable on a motorcycle engine, and includes: a formed aluminum alloy substrate with a shape of an engine component, and an alloy layer formed inwardly from the substrate. The alloy layer receives a laser operation on an alloy powder and the substrate to be alloyed and has an intermetallic compound with a specified composition. The alloy layer forms a continuous channel distribution and has a rigid depth of 0.2 to 3.5mm to improve over a conventional aluminum alloy engine where the wear resistant layer covered on the aluminum alloy substrate is liable to delaminate, thereby increasing the lifespan of the engine.
