Bir görüntüleme aygıtının (10) arka ışık ünitesini (31) kontrol etme yöntemi sağlanmaktadır. Arka ışık ünitesi (31) görüntüleme aygıtının (10) ekranını (43) aydınlatmak üzere birden fazla ışık kaynağı içermektedir. Yöntem, birden fazla ışık kaynağı arasında bir arızalı ışık kaynağını (32) tespit etmeyi içermektedir. Buna karşılık olarak en az bir birinci ışık kaynağının (33) arızalı ışık kaynağını (32) telafi etmesine imkân vermek için en az bir birinci ışık kaynağı (33) birinci pozisyondan ikinci pozisyona taşınmaktadır. Yöntemin uygulanması için birden fazla kontrol edilebilir hareketli ışık kaynağı olan bir arka ışık ünitesi (31) sağlanmaktadır. Görüntüleme aygıtının (10) arka ışık ünitesindeki (31) kontrol edilebilir hareketli ışık kaynaklarının konumunu kontrol etmeye yönelik bir sistem (400) de sağlanmaktadır.
