Abstract

The present invention relates to a cover structure in an integrated ice making device for a refrigeration appliance. The present invention more particularly relates to an ice grid cover structure for an ice maker that produces pieces of ice in a compartment of the refrigeration appliance. A refrigeration appliance having at least one compartment and an ice making device (1) disposed in said compartment is proposed, said ice making device (1) comprising a body frame (10) enclosing a vertically disposed ice grid (3) to effectuate formation of ice pieces in a plurality of cells (2) of said ice grid (3).

Claims (10)

1) A refrigeration appliance having at least one compartment and an ice making device (l) disposed in said compartment, said ice making device (l) comprising a body frame (lO) enclosing a vertically disposed ice grid (3) to effectuate formation of ice pieces in a plurality of cells (2) of said ice grid (3) characterized in that; at least one cover (5) is rotatably mounted to said body frame (10) to selectively cover said ice grid (3) in the manner that said at least one cover (5) covers said ice grid (3) during ice formation Within at least one of the cells (2) of said ice grid (3) and automatically provide an ice releasing opening upon completion of ice formation in said at least one of the cells (2) of said ice grid (3).
2) A refrigeration appliance as in Claim l, characterized in that said at least one cover (5) is configured to longitudinally extend along the entire vertical length of the ice grid (3).
3) A refrigeration appliance as in Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said at least one cover (5) is hinged at a cover hinge (9) disposed along an upper edge portion of said body frame (10).
4) A refrigeration appliance as in Claim 1 or 2, Characterized in that said at least one cover (5) is configured to cover two cells (2) along the horizontal direction of said ice grid (3).
5) A refrigeration appliance as in Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said at least one cover (5) is configured to cover only one cell (2) along the horizontal direction of said ice grid (3).
6) A refrigeration appliance as in any preceding Claim, characterized in that said at least one coveris (5) longitudinal dimension is configured to reach a plurality of teeth (12) disposed under said ice grid (3).
7) A refrigeration appliance as in Claim 6, characterized in that said at least one cover (5) extends to contact a portion of outer inclined edges of said teeth (12) to create a predetermined service angle (11) during ice formation in said ice
8) A refrigeration appliance as in Claim 6 or 7, characterized in that said teeth (12) are configured in the form of triangular form extension projecting from said body frame (10).
9) A refrigeration appliance as in Claim 1, characterized in that said covers (5) have longitudinal isolation means (6) extending along the entire longitudinal length thereof in the manner that creation of a water flow path is prevented along the separation line between two neighboring covers (5).
10) A refrigeration appliance as in Claim 9, characterized in that a longitudinal isolation means (6) of a first cover (5) partially extends over the outer surface of the second cover (5) to prevent an in-between How line.
