Kontaktör, sebeke üzerinde asiri akim çekilmesi halinde akimi keserek sebekeyi ve ona bagli elektrikli aletleri korur. Üzerinde bulunan sifirlama, stop ve trip dügmeleri mühürlenebilir bir kapakla örtülerek kullanicinin kontaktörden zarar görmesi ya da kontaktör ayarlarinin istem disi degistirilmesi riski ortadan kaldirilmistir. Ayrica akim kesme mekanizmasinin üst gövde içerisine yerlestirilmis olmasi sayesinde, bu gövdenin akim degeri farkli diger bir alt gövdeye ayrica monte edilebilmesi ve mekanizmanin farkli kontaktörler ile çalisabilmesi mümkün olmaktadir.
