Claims

1. Fire tube shield (10) in the form of a cylindrical tube with two open ends (12,14) for fitting into the fire tube mouth (16a) of a fire tube (16) for an industrial boiler, with the open end (12) of the fire tube shield (10) inside the fire tube (16) and the other open end (14) protruding from the fire tube mouth (16a), made of a corrosion-resistant material, with the characteristic that the open end (14) protruding from the fire tube mouth (16a) has a diameter greater than the diameter of the open end (12) inside the fire tube (16), with the fire tube shield protruding from the fire tube mouth at least 10 millimeters, which is the distance at which the fire tube shield (10) begins to increase in diameter from the diameter of the open end (12) inside the fire tube (16) until it reaches its longest diameter at the open end (14) protruding from the fire tube mouth (16a).
