Abstract

This invention describes a vehicle seat arrangement that allows the seat itself to be folded into a storage area with the various components of the storage structure not arranged on the surface of the storage area, using a simple structure. The said vehicle seat S consists of 30 support legs, which are held in a releaseable manner by 50 leg fastening components located on the vehicle floor and supporting seat 2, and 40 base supports connected to the vehicle floor to support the back of seat 1, allowing the back of seat 1 to rotate around its axis. The back of seat 1 rotates around its axis relative to the 40 base to move seat 2 to the storage area. The 30 support legs rotate around their axis relative to seat 2 in accordance with the rotational movement of the back of seat 1 and release from the 50 leg fastening component when the back of seat 1 reaches a predetermined axial rotation position. The 30 support legs are positioned below the 50 leg fastening component when the vehicle seat is in the folded state.

Claims (9)

1. A vehicle seat whose rear section and seat cushion are folded down and retracted, rotating around an axis in a designated folding area below the vehicle floor. The seat is equipped with support legs held in place by fastening components arranged on the vehicle floor. The rear section of the seat is connected to the vehicle floor in a rotating manner and rotates relative to the floor to move the seat to the folding area. These support legs rotate relative to the seat, mirroring the rotational movement of the rear section, and detach from their fastening components once the rear section has reached its predetermined rotational position. 2. A seat in a vehicle as per claim 1, which includes a base connected to the floor of the vehicle and supports the back of the seat so that the back of the seat can rotate around an axis, in a manner relative to the base, to move the seat to the floor for folding. 3. A seat in a vehicle as per claim 1 or 2 where such leg supports are positioned below the leg support components when the seat in the vehicle is in the folded-down position, which is the area where the back of the seat and the seat cushion are folded into the folding floor. 4. A seat in a vehicle as provided for in any of the claims of Claims 1 through 3, where such support legs are incorporated with a rotating shaft around the axis of the leg which is arranged at the upper end of the support legs and supported in a manner that rotates around the axis by the seat cushion and where such rotating shaft around the axis of the leg is arranged at the front of the leg attachment component when the seat in the vehicle is in a occupied position in which the occupants of the vehicle can sit. 5. A seat in a vehicle as provided for in any of the claims in Claims 1 through 4, where the mounting components for such legs are arranged above the floor surface of the vehicle. 6. Seats in a vehicle as provided for in any of the claims in Claims 1 through 5, where the mounting components for such legs are arranged at the rear of the stepped floor of the vehicle, and such stepped floor is connected to a folding floor. 7. A seat in a vehicle under any of the claims of Claims 1 through 6 whereby the rear portion of the seat can rotate around an axis to the front of the seat relative to the floor of the vehicle to move the seat to the floor for folding, and whereby when the rear portion of the seat has moved to the position of the predetermined rotation around the axis, the front end of the seat will come into contact with the floor surface before the supporting legs come into contact with the floor surface. 8. A seat in a vehicle as described in any of the claims of Claims 1 through 7, which is capable of being moved from a folded position to a tilted position in which the seat back and seat cushion are tilted upwards, and which such seat in the vehicle incorporates a tilting device connected to the seat back allowing the seat back to rotate around an axis relative to the floor of the vehicle, and a seat locking device connected to the seat cushion allowing the seat cushion to rotate around an axis relative to the seat back, whereby when the seat in the vehicle is in the tilted position the tilting device can be moved to a locked position in which the rotational movement of the seat back is locked, and whereby when the seat in the vehicle is in either the folded or tilted position the seat locking device can be moved to a locked position in which the rotational movement of the seat cushion is locked. 9. A seat in a vehicle under claim 8, which can be moved from an upturned position to a seated position in which a occupant of the vehicle can sit, whereby such seat locking device includes a release mechanism which releases the seat locking device from its locked position when the seat in the vehicle is in the upturned position, in which case the seat rotates around its forward axis relative to the rear of the seat in conjunction with the release mechanism, and whereby when the seat has reached a predetermined rotational position, the seat legs are held in place by leg-supporting components to support the seat in the seated position.
