Abstract

New application updated on 4/03/2016. Corrugated sheets, fixed film type cross-flow dispersion medium for wastewater and sludge treatment (84, 84', 84") and assembled parts (118, 118', 118"), comprising corrugations (98, 98', 98") beveled from approximately 100° to approximately 80° to the top and bottom of the sheets and assembled parts. The sheets have a partition formed into a single unit (100, 100', 100") along at least the top portion of the exposed side of the sheets (96, 96', 96") or assembled parts (130, 130', 130"), exposing the denser wastewater or sludge outside the assembled parts to a greater extent than the inside of the assembled parts. When connected to similar baffles (100, 100', 100") on similar sheets (84, 84', 84") or flat inserts with optional essence (132, 132', 132") attached to the corrugated sheets, it prevents the air by the essence used in the mat system from flowing out or the denser wastewater or sludge to be treated from entering the exposed side (96, 96', 96") of the sheets or the exposed side (130, 130', 130") of the assembled parts. The biomass forms a biofilm on the internal surface of the assembled parts, controlling the effective wastewater and sludge treatment.
