The invention also provides a means for simultaneously supporting the following interconnection services: a) public and shared Internet services; b) IP-based and MPLS-capable virtual private network (VPN) services; c) hybrid interconnection sessions among completely different connection-defined and non-connectivity networks; and d) end-to-end, connection-defined, and circuit-switched interconnection sessions for VDMI-based application services over a digital transceiver, such as an xDSL, or VCC-based terrestrial or wireless media. The invention presents a digital networking system capable of simultaneously providing multi-mode interconnection sessions on a plurality of completely different network systems. From a user premises device (UPD) to an NSP, CSP, or ASP network gateway and providing a plurality of interconnection environments. The invention also provides a means for supporting the following interconnection services simultaneously: a) public and shared Internet services; b) IP-based and MPLS-capable virtual private network (VPN) services; c) hybrid networking time-of-day, among completely different connection-based and non-connected networks; and d) end-to-end time-of-day, connection-based, and circuit-switching applications for VDMI-based applications over a digital transceiver, such as an xDSL, or VCC-based terrestrial or wireless media.
