Abstract

DC60 (13/03/57) provides a water treatment method by which significantly reduced heat and water losses due to blow-off can be realized compared to cases where soft water, as a solid, is used without the use of any strong alkali, strong acid and large quantities of sodium chloride. Furthermore, the formation of Ca and Mg scales on the heating surface and the formation of scale caused by iron taken from the condensate water can be suppressed and, in this respect, the heating surface is kept clean. The water treatment method includes, in steam generation equipment, where the condensate water is collected and reused as feed water without the use of water softening devices, passing the raw water through a double-layer capacitor desalination system with a liquid path (21) to produce the treated water, supplying the steam generation equipment with the treated water and the collected condensate water acting as feed water, and adding a water-soluble polymer including carboxyl groups in the polymer molecules to the feed water.
