Abstract

DC60 (19/03/47) Container, lid, and color-coded product identification strip arrangement. The lid is reusable, prevents crimping, and resists accidental detachment. The container has a rim surrounding a circular opening. This rim includes an outward protruding ridge that encloses the container wall. A wing is constructed as an integral part of the container wall and surrounds the wall below the ridge. The sides of the wing wall have recesses for attaching colored plastic strips to indicate the product inside the container or other desired indications. The lid consists of an inverted U-shaped channel that clamps onto the container rim for a leak-proof seal. The outer wall surrounding the U-shaped channel has an inward protruding rim shaped and positioned below the ridge of the container rim. The top of the lid has a two-level, tiered wall. The outer wall of the lid has a flap that extends downwards and inwards. From the edge of the flap, a recess is formed around it to meet the top edge of the container wing, and a tear-off strip extends from the flap and is permanently attached to the flap. This tear-off strip has a lower edge that overlaps and is located within the recess in the container wing when the lid is secured to the container. The container, lid, and color-coded product labeling strips are designed for secure attachment. The reusable lid prevents compression and accidental detachment. Claims (9)

1. Container and lid arrangement: Both the container and lid are made of flexible plastic material. The container generally consists of a circular base, a surrounding rim, a circular opening to the container, and a surrounding wall extending from the base to the rim. This rim is constructed with ridges protruding outwards, enclosing the container. The top ridge encloses the container, and the bottom ridge encloses the container, with evenly spaced or continuous ridges. Wings are constructed integrally with the wall and enclose it at the level of the ridges. At the top of the wing, triangular ridges form a surrounding perimeter, dividing the container into evenly spaced or continuous openings. The side walls have holes for assembly. A colored plastic strip is used to identify the product inside the container or for other intended indication. The lid consists of an inverted U-shaped opening with two ridges extending inwards towards the center of the lid. The two lower ridges of the lid extend in a circular fashion, leaving a tear-off strip. The top ridge encloses the lid; when fitted onto the container, the ridges of the container and lid interlock, creating a seal. The container is further enclosed by an inner leather-like covering within the surrounding wall. The outer perimeter and welded walls, which overlap the edges of the container, are constructed with an overhang extending downwards at the ends of the lid. The ends of the tear-off strip are angled to meet the upper flange edges of the container. 2. The arrangement as specified in Requisition 1, where the said partition serves to divide the said compartment into inner and outer sub-compartments, and where the outer sub-compartments are shaped to clamp the edges of the said container in a sealed manner. 3. As specified in Claim 1, the ridges on the top and bottom edges of the container are interlocked with the bottom edge of the lid to enhance and prevent unintentional prying or opening. 4. Arrangement as specified in Claim 1: The upper flange of the container has a raised ridge to meet the lid edge. 5. The arrangement as specified in Requirement 2, where multiple radial ridges extend across the inner sub-sections of the cover and connect such inner sub-sections to the said central partition. 6. Any arrangement as specified in Requisitions 1 through 5, in which such lid consists of a two-level rim and has a central well located in the opening of the container when the lid is fitted onto the container, and in which such well is demarcated by the inner wall of such enclosure. 7. Arrangement as specified in Claim 6, whereby the lowest area of such container is shaped and sized to fit within the central well of such lid, and whereby the container lid assembly may be stacked on top of other container lid assemblies. 8. Any arrangement as specified in Requisitions 1 through 7, where the protruding channel around the wing of such container contains a layered channel and where the lower edge of such tear strip fits within such channel. 9. Any arrangement as specified in claims 1 through 8, which is a hole in the side flange of the container, can be fitted with a plastic sheet which can indicate the product inside the container or other desired indications.
