Claims (26)

Herbicide products in the form of a stable propenyl solution, namely N-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)propionamide, as an active herbicide mixture dissolved in a solvent. Such products will not or have very little tendency to precipitate or crystallize propenyl into a solid from the solution during cool storage. The solvents used are solvent mixtures mainly consisting of (a) glycol ether solvents with a solubility of no more than 5% by weight in water at 20°C, and (b) dimethyl sulfoxide or (c) N-methyl-2-pyrolidone and (d) aromatic solvents, and where propenyl is present in amounts of 10 to 45% by weight, especially 30 to 45% by weight (a) glycol ether solvents are present in amounts of 20 to 85% by weight (b) dimethyl sulfoxide or (c) N-methyl-2-pyrolidone. (d) Aromatic solvents are present in amounts of 1 to 20% F by weight.

Such products have little or no tendency to precipitate or crystallize propenyl into solid form from the aqueous emulsion formed during dilution with water and during storage. Where the solvent used is a solvent mixture consisting mainly of (a) a glycol ether solvent with a solubility of not more than 5% by weight in water at 20°C, and (b) dimethyl sulfoxide or (c) N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and (d) an aromatic solvent, and where propenyl is present in an amount of 10 to 45% by weight, especially 30 to 45% by weight (a) glycol ether solvent is present in an amount of 20 to 85% by weight, (b) dimethyl sulfoxide or (c) N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. (d) Aromatic solvents are present in amounts of 1 to 20% by weight based on the total weight of the product.

The solvent used may be a solvent mixture consisting mainly of (a) a glycol ether solvent with low solubility of 5% by weight in water at 20°C, (b) dimethyl sulfoxide and (c) N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, and (d) an aromatic solvent, with propenyl present in amounts of 10 to 45% by weight, or 30 to 45% (a) glycol ether solvent present in amounts of 20 to 85% by weight, (b) dimethyl sulfoxide and (c) N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. (d) aromatic solvents are present in an additional amount of 1 to 20% by weight, based on the total weight of the product.

This includes aromatic solvents and where propenyl is present in amounts of 10 to 45% by weight or 30 to 45% by weight (a) glycol ether solvents are present in amounts of 20 to 85% by weight (b) dimethyl sulfoxide and (c) N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone are present in amounts of 1 to 20% by weight (d) aromatic solvents are present in amounts of 5 to 20% by weight of the total product and where surfactants or surfactant groups are present in amounts of 2 to 15% by weight depending on the total product weight.

Propenyl is present in amounts of 20 to 45% by weight, glycol ether solvent in amounts of 35 to 85% by weight, and dimethyl sulfoxide or N-methyl-2-pyrolidone in amounts of 1 to 20% by weight, based on the total weight of the product.
