The absorbent product consists of a central absorbent layer with opposite longitudinal and transverse sides. The absorbent layer includes a pair of flexible side wings, one wing extending transversely outwards from each longitudinal side of the absorbent layer. The wings are optimized to fold over the crotch area of the wearer's underwear when in use. The absorbent layer also includes an adhesive fastener on the garment surface for securing the product to the underwear. The adhesive fastener has a pattern consisting of two longitudinal strips, one positioned near each longitudinal side of the product, and two transverse strips, one positioned near each transverse end of the product. These longitudinal and transverse strips truly enclose the central area, which is non-sticky at room temperature and cannot be securely fastened by the adhesive to part of the garment surface of the product to the wearer's underwear during use.
