Abstract

DC60 (04/03/48) To prevent distributed products from being illegally used by or traded to persons other than the regular owner, a product management system is used. This system includes a database for associating and storing the product-related master information and the owner-related information. An owner identification device is used to read the master information from the IC identification tag attached to the product and store it there. The product-related master information and the reading from the owner information database associated with the read master information include: a card issuing device with storage media for the master information and a verification device for verifying the master information read from the card, the IC identification tag, and the database. This ensures the owner's legitimacy and prevents the illegal use or trade of distributed products by persons other than the regular owner. The owner information, related to the product owner, and the owner identification device for reading the master information from the IC identification tag attached to the product and storing it there, along with the product-related master information, for reading from the owner information database that has been associated with the read master information, include: a card issuing device for issuing a name-based card for storing the master information, and a verification device for verifying the master information read from the card, the master information read from the IC identification tag, and the master information read from the database. This ensures the owner's legitimacy.

Claims (5)

1. The product management system comprises: a) a database capable of relating master information related to the product and owner information related to the product's owner, and storing this master and owner information; b) an owner identification device capable of reading master information from the IC identification tag attached to the product and stored in the system, along with the relevant master information, and reading it from the owner information database that is associated with the read master information; c) a card issuance device capable of issuing cards with storage media for the master information; and d) an identification device capable of correctly identifying the product's owner by verifying and comparing the master information read from the card storage media, the master information read from the IC identification tag, and the master information read from the database. 2. Product management system pursuant to claim 1, where primary information on the IC label is transmitted and received via wireless communication. 3. Product management system pursuant to claim 1, where the primary information on the card is transmitted and received via wireless communication. 4. The product management system, pursuant to claim 1, where IC cards and identification tags store owner information and owner identification methods, will be made possible to read master information from the database when the master information and owner information read from the card, in sequence, match the master information and owner information read from the IC tag. 5. Product Management System pursuant to claim paragraph 4, where the card stores the card ID for card identification; the database stores the card ID and method of identification; the owner is identified as the normal owner when the card ID read from the card matches the card ID read from the database, and when the owner information read from the IC card matches the owner information read from the database.
