Abstract

The DC60 garden benches, in all three styles, consist of a cast iron frame that holds the wooden seating supports. The cast iron frame is cast with dowels on top, either square or round, or star-shaped dowels that are cast and protrude perpendicularly from the sides of the frame. Multiple dowels are cast, one for each wooden panel that rests on them. The wood is drilled to a depth and size matching the dowel's diameter to ensure a tight fit. Holes are then drilled from the top of the panel down to the dowel or between the star-shaped grooves, depending on the design. Screws are then used to secure the bench to the dowels using washers and threaded nuts. The dowel is cast and protrudes to the side perpendicular to the cast iron frame. Multiple dowels are cast, one for each wooden plank that will be placed on top of the dowel. The wood is drilled to a depth and size matching the dowel's diameter to ensure a tight fit between the plank and the dowel. Then, holes are drilled from the top plank down to the dowel or between the notches, depending on the application. Screws are then used to fasten the screws to the washers and supporting nuts, securing them to the dowels.

Claims (4)

1. A garden bench consists of a bench leg (1) which is a square or round metal rod and a seat support (2) which is a rectangular wooden plate with a length according to the size of the bench. It has a special feature: the leg (1) has a peg (6) at both ends of the seat support (2) with holes drilled with a width and length corresponding to the cross-section of the peg (6). The top of the seat support (2) has holes for a threaded nut (3) which will be inserted to fasten to the cast iron plate that is placed flat on the bench leg (1) to the seat support (2) with a washer (4) and a threaded nut (5). The washer and nut (5) are located under the square peg (6). 2. The bench under claim 1, in which the leg portion of the bench (1) has a square pin (6) which is a cast iron plate attached perpendicularly to the leg portion (1) and parallel to the seat support (2). The seat support (2) is a rectangular plate the length of the bench and has a special feature: at both ends there are holes with a width and length of the pin (6) that correspond to the size of the square pin, so that both ends of the seat support can fit over the square pin into the holes. The top of the seat support (2) has holes for a threaded nut (3) that is inserted to fasten the pin, which is cast into the cast iron bar of the bench leg (1), to the top of the seat support (2) with a washer (4) and a threaded nut (5). The washer and nut (5) are located under the square pin (6). 3. The bench under claim 1 has a star-shaped dowel (6) with a cast iron plate attached perpendicular to the leg (1) and protruding inward to support the seat (2). The seat (2) is a rectangular wooden plate the length of the bench and has a special feature: at both ends there are holes of the width and length corresponding to the size of the star-shaped dowel (6), so that the ends of the seat can fit perfectly over the dowel into the holes. The top of the seat (2) has holes for a threaded nut (3) that is inserted between the dowels and secures the dowel to the bench leg (6) with a ring. The ring (4) and the threaded nut (5) are secured underneath the star-shaped dowel (6). 4. The bench under claim 1 has a round dowel (6) which is a cast iron plate attached perpendicularly to the leg (1) and parallel to the seat support (2). The seat support (2) is a rectangular piece of wood the length of the bench and has a special feature: at both ends there are holes the width and length of the dowel (6) that correspond to the size of the round dowel, so that the ends of the seat support can fit over the round dowel into the holes. The top of the seat support (2) has a hole for a threaded nut (3) which is inserted to fasten the dowel, which is cast into the cast iron plate of the bench leg (1), to the top of the seat support (2) with a washer (4) and a threaded nut (5). The washer and nut (5) are located under the square dowel (6).
