Disposable diapers, such as cloth diapers, have longitudinal and transverse directions. The longitudinal seam(7,8) passes through at least one section of the crotch area(4) and the covering, which is to be made of a flexible laminate made up of a flexible film applied between two nonwoven layers, is characterized by the seam(7,8) being reinforced in each section by at least one nonwoven strip(15,16) containing thermoplastic fibers, which the nonwoven strip is applied to the longitudinal edges(21,22 and 31, 32) of the front and back sections of the pantyhose at least along the inner ends as seen in the longitudinal direction of the pantyhose of the two edge sections and is joined there by the longitudinal edge of the covering to form the seam(7,8), and is characterized by the tensile strength of the seam in the transverse and lateral directions exceeding 5 N/25.4 mm in the section reinforced by the nonwoven strip(15,16). And it is characterized by the fact that the fracture strength of such covering in the transverse direction exceeds the tensile strength value for reinforced welded seams.
