A longitudinal portion in the first transverse direction and a second portion extending from the longitudinal axis in the second transverse direction opposite to the first transverse direction, and where the first and second portions of the elongated base have a concave shape facing the handle which connects to the head. 2. A mouthguard under claim 1 in which this base and each of the protrusions are incorporated with elastic material. 3. A mouthguard under claim 1 or claim 2, which also incorporates an elongated ridge formed from the first material on the posterior end of the head, with the elongated ridge extending from the posterior end of the head. 4. A mouthguard under any one of claims 1 through 3 in which the protrusions are generally rod-shaped. 5. A mouthguard under claim 4 in which each of the protrusions includes an extremity surface farther from the posterior end of this head which is tilted toward the longitudinal axis of this head. 6. A mouthguard under any one of claims 1 through 5. 7. A mouth care device under any of the claims 1 through 6, where the elongated base, the elongated longitudinal portion, and the protrusions are formed into a single composite piece. 8. A mouth care device under any of the claims 1 through 7, where the elongated longitudinal portion of the cleaner extends down onto the handle and forms part of the grip. 9. A mouth care device under any of the claims 1 through 8, where the cleaner has a hardness within the range of approximately 8–35 Shore A. 10.
